MINISTER OF INTERIOR TASKS THE NEW CGs ON SERVICE DELIVERY

The Minister of Interior, Lt Gen Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd), has tasked the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mohammed Babandede, and Controller-General of the Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS), Ahmed Ja’afaru, on improved service delivery.
He said this at the decoration ceremony of the newly-appointed NIS and NPS Service Chiefs.
The Minister, who said their appointment was based on their meritorious service, urged both of them to “hit the ground running” by drawing up strategies that would help them achieve their goals and add value to their Services.
He enjoined the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service to work on reducing the time spent on the issuance and re-issuance of e-passport, while tasking the Controller-General, Nigeria Prisons Service to works towards ensuring prison decongestion as well as inmate rehabilitation.
The Minister assured the newly appointed officers of the Ministry’s Continuous support towards realizing the change mantra of the present administration.
In a vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary, Minister of Interior, Bassey Okon Akpanyung, commended the newly decorated NIS and NPS Service Chiefs on attaining the peak of their career, and enjoined them not to leave any gap in the discharge of their duties.
Responding on behalf of his counterpart, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mohammed Babandede, promised that they would justify their appointment by being diligent in their duties.
