FG GRANTS CITIZENSHIP TO FOREIGN NATIONALS
The Federal Government has granted citizenship to 335 deserving foreign nationals.
This disclosure was made by the Minister of Interior, Lt Gen Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (rtd), after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.

Gen. Dambazau said those foreign nationals met the requirements as stated out in Chapter III, Sections 26 and 27 of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
The Minister disclosed that the granting of citizenship followed the consideration and recommendation of the Advisory Council on Nigerian Citizenship (ACNC), noting that the Committee based their recommendations on the relevant sections of the Constitution.
He explained that of the number granted citizenship, 245 applied by naturalization, while 90, who are foreign women married to Nigerians, applied by registration.
