INTERIOR MINISTER ASSURES OF ADEQUATE SECURITY --- As Kaduna International Airport opens for business

As the Kaduna International Airport formally opens for business, the Minister of Interior, Lt Gen Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (rtd), has said that all security and safety measures have been put in place to respond to emergency situations.
The Minister stated this in Kaduna when he inspected facilities at the Kaduna International Airport.
Gen Dambazau expressed satisfaction at the level of alertness of the personnel of some of the Services under the Ministry – Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Fire Service (FFS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and Nigeria Police Force (NPF), noting that they were all poised to carry out their respective functions.
The Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said that operations at the Airport had successfully commenced with the arrival of the first international flight – Ethiopian Airline, Boeing 787 Dreamliner – pointing out that domestic airlines had also been arriving and departing since the formal opening of the Airport.
He also disclosed that the Federal Government has provided shuttle buses to ferry passengers to Abuja.
The Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, remarked that with the successful introduction of the Departure/Arrival Cards, air travel had been made easier for international passengers.
The Minister of Interior, the Minister of State, Aviation, and the Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Service, inspected the Immigration Arrival Desk, the tarmac and other facilities at the airport.
